Terms
Draft. The final terms will be reviewed by counsel before public launch. Until then, here’s the operational shape of our agreement.
The service
askrobin.io provides a hosted, configured Claude Code environment running inside a per-user Firecracker microVM with the robin-assistant framework pre-installed. You access it via the cloud-shell terminal at app.askrobin.io, SSH, or chat platforms (Discord, Slack, Telegram, email) we connect via OAuth.
Your account
- You sign in with Google. One human, one account.
- You’re responsible for actions taken from your account, including those your AI assistant takes on connected services (sending email, posting to Discord, modifying GitHub repos). Set scopes carefully.
- You may not use the service to violate the law, abuse third-party APIs you connect, or run sustained crypto-mining / model-distillation workloads.
Billing
- 14-day free trial. No card required to start.
- After trial: the plan you selected at signup, billed monthly via Stripe.
- Cancel any time via the customer portal at
/api/billing/portal. Access continues to the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate. - Anthropic API costs are pass-through if you chose broker mode at signup; in paste mode you bring your own Anthropic key and we never touch their billing.
Data + IP
- You own everything you put into your VM. We hold an operational license solely to run the service (back up your volume to R2 snapshots, route notifications, restart your machine).
- We do not train models on your data and do not sell it to third parties.
- If you export with
robin export-for-cloudyou get an age-encrypted tarball you can take elsewhere; the same tool is the migration path off our service.
Service guarantees (and lack thereof)
No SLA today — we’re pre-launch. Best-effort uptime; we’ll publicly announce a target SLA once we’ve been live long enough to measure honestly. Status at status.askrobin.io.
Provided as-is, no warranty, liability capped at the fees you’ve paid us in the last 12 months. Standard stuff; counsel will tighten this.
Changes
We’ll email any substantive change at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
